Ruth Elizabeth Bork, 94, passed away on March 13, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.
Ruth was born May 30, 1917 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Victor and Clara Bartels Kraut. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Music Lovers Club and Grace Lutheran Church. Ruth was active in the PTA, worked many years for the Community Concerts Association to bring fine music to Harlingen and was very active in church serving in the Altar Guild, directing and singing in the choir, participating in Lutheran Women, and wherever else she could contribute her time. She had a great love of music, when she was young; she played the violin in her church orchestra, where she met her husband, Robert O. Bork who preceded her death in 1990.
Ruth is survived by her sons, John E. Bork of Pennsylvania, David M. Bork of Dallas; daughters, Marty Wilks of Nevada and Susan Young of Pennsylvania; grandsons, John Robert Bork of Florida, Damien Young of South Carolina, and Jason Young of Pennsylvania; granddaughters Linda Bork of California, Kelly Hyatt and Karen Alsum of Nevada; great granddaughter Leigha Underwood, and great grand sons Kyle Hyatt and Jason Alsum, great great grandchildren, Sean and Bryan O’Born and Kassandra Underwood of Nevada.
Visitation hours will be held Monday, March 19, 2012 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 11 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen with Rev. Ryan Pederson officiating. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
