Harlingen ~ Ruby Lee Frith Terhune went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2013. She was born the daughter of Wilton and Bertha Frith on December 17, 1922 in Clanton, Alabama.
Ruby will always be loved and remembered by her loving family and many adoring friends. She is survived by her children; Terry and wife Susan Terhune and Stephanie and husband Dwayne Nimerick. She was lovingly known as “Mimi” by her grandchildren, Jennifer Nimerick Silva, Lynsey and husband Cortney Brown, Ashley Nimerick, Joshua Nimerick, Lauren and husband Travis Hawes, and her great-grandchildren Makena Lee Silva and Emma Grace Brown. Also surviving is her brother Wilton Frith Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years Lt. Col. Claude M. Terhune, daughter Claudia Terhune Joines, son-in-law Glenn Joines, sister Nell Frith Allsbrook, and brother James Frith.
Ruby married Claude Terhune on May 15, 1949 in Selma, Alabama and together they traveled to many wonderful and exotic places while Claude served in the U.S. Air Force. They were transferred to Harlingen from Rabat, Morocco in 1957 and this became their lifelong home.
Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harlingen where she taught Sunday School. She was also an active member of many civic and social organizations including, Officer’s Wives Club, Junior Service League, Garden Club, PTA, and Harlingen Country Club. She was an avid Bridge player, loved to travel, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friend and doctor, Eugene Nunnery, and his staff.
The family would also like to thank all of Ruby’s friends for the joyous times, wonderful memories and lifelong bonds that were shared. Your friendship meant the world to her and brought her such happiness.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Entombment will be private.

Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
