Ruben Garcia, Jr.

Ruben Garcia Jr., 66, peacefully passed from this life September 21, 2021. He was born to Ruben Garcia and Guadalupe M. Garcia on September 8, 1955 in Harlingen, Texas.

He was a graduate of Texas A&I University – Kingsville where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.  Ruben was a career counselor for over 32 years.

Ruben enjoyed hosting Bible studies in his home and counseling anyone in need.  He loved spending time with his family and had plans of traveling.

Left to treasure his memory is Ruben’s loving wife, Mary Jane Garcia; his children, Cristobal (Alyssa) Garcia and Jessica (Celestino) Abrego; his grandchildren, Anthony Abrego, Mark Abrego, Vivian Abrego, and Baby Garcia (expected March, 2022); his siblings, Araceli (Julio) Zapata, Robert (Sandra) Garcia, and Mario (Eunice) Garcia; and, many friends and colleagues.

Ruben’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Funeral services for Ruben Garcia, Jr. will conclude on Monday evening.
