Roy Howard Kosel

Roy Howard Kosel, aged 94, peacefully passed away on May 2, 2024, in Harlingen, Texas. He was born on May 5, 1929, in Albertlia, North Dakota to Jacob Kosel and Freda Knipfel Kosel.
 
 Roy graduated from Breckenridge High School in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He served his country proudly as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Roy dedicated many years of service to the U.S. Postal Service before retiring.
 
 Throughout his life, Roy was a valued member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. During his leisure time, he found joy in attending to his orchard, tending to cattle, and playing dominos.
 
Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Kosel; his parents, Jacob and Freda Kosel; his brothers, Richard Kosel, Walter Kosel, Alvin Kosel, Ralph Kosel; and his sister, Violet Gruenberg .
 
 Left to cherish Roy’s memory are his children: Gloria Kury (Dave Youngquist), Grace Giorgio (Steve Giorgio), and Galyn Thomae (Dennis Thomae); along with his grandchildren: Clifford Moody, Krystal Moody, Jennifer Giorgio, James Giorgio, Charmaine Thomae, and Lane Thomae; as well as his great-grandchildren: Porter Moody and Noah Moody.
 
 A memorial service honoring Roy's life will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Joseph’s Indian School.
