Rosa Maria Gomez

Rosa Maria Gomez, was called to be with our lord and savior on Tuesday, the 17th of May 2016. She was seventy- four years old. Born on the 9th of June 1941 in Monterrey, N.L. to her parents Benjamin Guevara and Juana Gaytan Bustos.
Rosa was an active member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. She was involved in many programs such as PTA/PTO, SBCISD Parental Involvement, Niño’s Head Start Child Advocate, as well as an active member of the community.
She is preceded in death by her grandson Jose Felix Guzman.
Survivors include her loving mother Juanita Gaytan, one sister Alejandra (Juan) Davila, her children Jorge Luis (Rosemary) Gomez, Benjamin (Rosa) Gomez, Elizabeth (Pedro) Gomez, Rosa Anna (Mark) Montemayor, Celina (Carlos) Perez, and Belinda (Rogelio) Medrano. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, the 19th of May 2016, beginning at 3:00 pm in the afternoon and concluding at 9:00 p.m. at night, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, 1400 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, the 20th of May 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 501 W. Robertson St, San Benito, Texas 78586. Interment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
