Rolando A. Lara

Rolando A. Lara, aged 72, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024 in McAllen, Texas. Rolando was born on September 7, 1952, in San Benito, Texas, he was the son of Aurelio and Maria Dolores Agado Lara.

 Rolando obtained his High School Diploma in his hometown of Raymondville, Texas. He additionally earned a degree in Computer Technical studies in Houston, Texas. Rolando had a dedicated career as a Senior Baker at Lara’s bakery in Raymondville. As an integral part of his family’s business, his contributions recently led to the bakery being named, the best bakery in the Rio Grande Valley. Rolando’s commitment to quality and service throughout his many years working at the bakery, will ensure that he is forever etched as part of the fabric and history of not only Lara’s Bakery but of Raymondville, Texas as well.

 In Rolando’s spare time, he had a passion for working on cars. Through this passion, he was able to showcase his knowledge and expertise of mechanical skills and his love for automotive craftsmanship.

 He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Aurelio Leo Lara and Jose Luis Lara.

 Rolando is remembered lovingly by his children, Jose Rolando Lara and Nyomi Yvonne Lara; his grandchildren, Mireya O. Trejo, Mark A. Alvarez, and Marshall A. Alvarez; his surviving brother, Jorge A. Lara; sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Liz" Lara as well as his nephews and nieces, Aaron Lara (Liza), Lisa Anne Lara Flores (Tommy), John Lara, James Lara, Michelle Lara Elliot (Glenn), and Michael Lara.

 The Lara family will welcome friends and family for visitation on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.

 Rolando A. Lara will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
