SAN BENITO, TEXAS- Roberto Villarreal, 71, of San Benito, TX joins the Lord in his kingdom of angels surrounded by his loving family on July 30, 2014.
Roberto is survived by the love of his life, Concepcion, of 52 years, 6 children: Patricia (Antonio) Mercado, Rosemary (Eusebio) Salazar, Lydia (Andrew) Trevino, Roberto Jr., Linda (Gene) Molano; and Martin (Lillian) Villarreal as well as 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.    He will also be dearly missed by brothers and sisters Paula (†Alberto) Serna, Hortencia (Leonardo) Gonzalez, Francisco Villarreal Jr., Jose (Chacha) Villarreal, Lucia (Luis) Morales, and Ricardo (Jenny) Villarreal and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Maria Villarreal.
Roberto (El Viejon) was born on September 13, 1942 in San Benito, Texas.  He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church choir where he shared the joy of singing to the Lord.  His passion for music touched the hearts of many with serenades of Elvis Presley, Pedro Infante and Vicente Fernandez to name a few.  Roberto retired a loyal and dedicated employee of United Launch Alliance (Lockheed Martin) where he will be missed by co-workers and longtime friends.
Honored to serve as pallbearers his 2 sons, Robert and Marty, and son-in-laws, Tony, Chevy, Andy, and Gene.
Visitation will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 2nd and 3rd from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Holy rosary at 7:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 4th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
