Robert Larry Porter

Robert Larry Porter, 81, peacefully passed at his home on Friday, January 21, 2022.  He was born to the late Otis Porter and Lillian Bullard Porter on January 31, 1940 in San Benito, Texas.

Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served aboard the U.S.S. Henrico (APA-45). Later, he worked for Texas Instruments in Houston until his retirement after 25 years of dedicated service. In his leisure time, Larry enjoyed collecting coins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Lillian B. Porter; his brother, Donnie Porter; daughter, Ann Marie Wilson; and son, Billie Joe Porter.

Left to treasure Larry’s memory is his wife, Geraldine Porter; daughter, Sophia Koch (Mark); sons, Michael Rains and Lawrence Rains (Suzie); eight grandchildren; and, numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Janet Moore and Joan Wells.

A graveside service will take place Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park with Rev. Vance Greek officiating.
