Bobby Jackson, 59, passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center late Saturday night, May 30, 2009.  Mr. Jackson was surrounded by his loving family when the Lord called for him.  His whole world revolved around his family and friends as well as Greyhound football.  His grandchildren were the light of his life.
Bobby was born and raised in San Benito. He graduated from San Benito in 1968 and then went to attend Wharton County Junior College.  Bobby was married on September 28, 1974 to his wife Barbara.  Bobby cherished his loving wife and four children that meant the world to him.  Bobby was a devoted Greyhound and Texas Longhorn fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Gustine Jackson and his brothers, James L. Jackson, Jr. and Daniel Wayne Jackson.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara G. Jackson; his children, Robert (Michelle) Jackson, Brandon (Alma) Jackson, Leigh Anne (Lee Roy Sweet) and Renee (Israel) Casarez; twelve grandchildren; and his brothers, William K. Jackson and Forrest Jackson.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 2 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Perez officiating.  Entombment will follow at Mont Meta Mausoleum in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be William Goad, Norman Goad, Gerald Goad, Steve Brady, Lee Roy Sweet, Israel Cazarez and John Ray.
The family would like to thank Dr. Al Smith and his staff for their caring service and dedication.
