Robert "Bob" A. Terry

Robert Allen Terry passed away on October 25, 2021.  He was born on November 15, 1932 in Rodessa, Louisiana.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to1955, during the Korean War.  He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Goff in 1955.  He was a 64-year member of the Harlingen Masonic Lodge 1132.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Adolphus Terry and Iva Lucille Hale Terry also two sisters, Ruth Allcock and Naomi Richey, his brother Kenneth and tree brothers-in-law, Denver Allock, Hubert Alderson and Monroe Richey.

Robert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth (Betsy); his son, Robert Allen (Judy) Terry, Jr. of Sweeny, Texas and their sons Shane and Jay, his son, Gregory (Karen) Terry of Lago Vista, Texas and their children Colton, Austin (Brittney) and children Rocklan, Waylon and Abigayle and Greg’s daughter Amanda (John) Myers and their children Chelsea, Ashley and Jacob, his daughter Rebecca Terry Valentine of Newburgh, New York and her children Emil J. III (Alyssa) Valentine and child Lilah Wren, Ashley and Robert.  He is also survived by his sisters Catherin Alderson of Uvalde, Texas and Mary (Fred) Lanier of Rockwall, Texas.  He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, he will be cremated.  A memorial service with full military honors will take place Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the clubhouse at SunWest Mobile Home Park, 1302 SunWest Blvd, Harlingen, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, Robert wishes that you find a reason to laugh, help someone less fortunate or perform a random act of kindness or, if you wish, a donation to the Wounded Warriors.  His wish was always that the world be kinder and better place for everyone.
