Robert L. Stewart of Harlingen, Texas passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the age of 84.
Robert was born on June 11, 1929 in Putnam, Texas. He enlisted in the Army in 1946 and served two years in the 187th Airborne/Glider Regiment. After serving honorably for the U.S. Army, he returned to Harlingen and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. In 1948 he married Bobbie K. Macomb from Los Fresnos, Texas. They had two sons and remained in the Harlingen Area. Robert retired from the Post Office in 1948.
His love for golf found him living the last years in Cottonwood Estates.  Up until these last two years he played golf nearly every day.  Robert and his loving wife Bobbie had a great love for the Texas Hill Country and maintained a small ranch north of Uvalde for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie, two sons, R C Stewart (Ann) and J. Alan Stewart (Janice). Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, E.H. Stewart and Lillian Stewart.
His wishes are to have his ashes spread in his beloved Texas Hill Country. A private service with immediate family will be held on his son’s ranch in the Heart of Texas.
