HARLINGEN:
Robert M. (Bob) Stevens passed away on October 13, 2007 at his home. He was born on December 11, 1919 in Ohiowa, NE to Claude C. and Amy Stevens.
Bob proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from Omaha Public Power Division in 1982 and moved to Harlingen.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Gilbreath Stevens; his children Janice and Rick Karlson of Denver, Sheryl Manning and Mitch of Denver, Matt and Stacy Stevens of St. Cloud, FL, and Larry Steven of Council Bluffs, IA; sisters, Maxine Gross and Millie Venneman of Council Bluffs, IA, Dorothy Harris of Meridian, ID, Doris Dickerson of Mound, MN; brothers, Gerald Stevens of Council Bluffs, IA, his twin brother, Richard & wife Teresa Stevens of Cedar Rapids, IA; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; step-children, Kat and Ed Cooper of Phoenix, AZ, Brian & Pam Lab of Houston, TX; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was a member and past Master of Bluffs City Masonic Lodge #71 AF & AM, a member of the First Christian Church and Harlingen B.P.O.E. Elks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Chasta Aders and Shirley Lab, two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Mark Coppins. Funeral service and burial will be held in Council Bluffs, IA at a later date.
