Harlingen:
Robert Redmond Scott passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at his residence in Harlingen. Robert was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 23, 1923 to Carl A. Scott, Sr. and Kate L. Scott. He came to the Rio Grande Valley with his parents in 1939. Robert graduated from Stuart Place High School in 1941 and after attending business school spent this entire working career in the fields of banking and accounting in the Harlingen area.
Robert is survived by a daughter, Virginia Kay (Billie) Belschner and son, Carl R. (Anne) Scott, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl A., Jr., Richard, H., Glenn E., and Dewey H. Scott, and by a daughter, Deborah Ann Scott.
The family request that those desiring to do so may make memorial donations to the Sandi Jo Funk Hospice Program, P.O. Drawer 2588, Harlingen, TX 78551 or to The Gideon’s, P.O. Box 290, Harlingen, TX 78551.
As per Robert’s wishes, private services will be held at a later date.
