Robert T. Parker, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX,
Robert was born June 12, 1930 in Mattoon, IL to Agnes Keeney and Theodore Parker. He was a 1952 graduate of Eastern Illinois University and proudly served his country with the United States Army Signal Corps from 1952 to 1954.  Robert retired from Exxon in 1981 after 25 years of loyal service.  While at Exxon one of his jobs was as a manager of oil and gas royalties.  Robert went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in Denver, CO and retired in 1984.  He moved back to Houston where he worked for Exxon as a consultant.  After moving to South Texas, he served as staff photographer for the Rancho Viejo Reporter.  Robert was a member of Rancho Viejo Country Club, Harlingen Country Club and Centennial Country Club in Grand Rapids, MI where he was a member of the Men’s Golf Association.  He was also a longtime member of Houston Petroleum Accountants Society.  Robert enjoyed golf, photography and more golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Emma Shelton Parker.
Robert is survived by his wife, Beverly Haven Parker; son, Michael (Theresa); four grandchildren, Rachel, Shon, Andrew, and Kimberly; one great grandson, Will; his twin brother, Richard L. (Alice); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  Also, surviving Robert are his step-children, Charles F. (Stacie) Behler, Averie (Larry) Alverson, Ruth Ann (James) Russ and step-grandchildren, Christopher (Kathy) Behler, Andrew (Jennifer) Behler, Jackie (Owen) Russ, Adam (Becky) Russ, Bill Alverson and Betsy Alverson.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Advent, 104 W. Elizabeth in Brownsville, Texas on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11 a.m.
