Robert Daniel Kloepping

Robert Kloepping, 82, passed away Saturday, October 6, 007 at his residence in Harlingen.  He was born January 3, 1925 to Dan & Grace Kloepping in Freeport, Illinois.  The family moved to Santa Rosa, Texas in November of 1928 where he lived until July 29, 1989 when he moved to Sunshine Country Club Estates in Harlingen.
He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1943.  Shortly after graduation, he entered the US Army serving with the 1st Cavalry Division during World War II in 1945 – 1946.  After World War II he completed his service in Japan.
Robert farmed in Santa Rosa until 1975. He also worked for the US Department of Agriculture APHIS for 30 years retiring December 31, 1988.
Robert was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1929.  True to his Christian faith he served on many church boards and also was an Elder for many years.
Bob was a very generous person and had a wonderful sense of humor.  He would help anybody and there was never a person he met that he did not like.  If you knew Bob, you knew green was his favorite color and it showed.
Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dan and Grace Kloepping and his wife Dorothy B. Kloepping on July 11, 2003.  He is survived by his son, Lt. Col (retired) Gary Kloepping and his wife, Cass of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, daughter Debra Rickert and her husband Mike of Nampa, Idaho, three grand children, Zachary Kloepping, Denise Rickert, Michael Rickert and his wife Amanda, one great grand child Peyton Rickert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family gratefully acknowledges Bob’s caregivers:  Tammy Bocanegra, Kathy Walker, Diane Foster, Mary Corona and the Sandy Jo Funk Hospice program.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9th from 5:30 PM. until 7:30 PM. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Harlingen on Wednesday, October 10th, 2007 beginning at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Pallbearers will be Alan Johnson, Keith Kloepping, Larry Johnson, Mike Wiede, Frank Hale and Wayne Swanson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 602 Morgan Blvd., Harlingen, Texas 78550.
