Robert M. Hansen Sr., 94, passed away April 7, 2015 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.
Bob was born April 9, 1920 in Manistique, MI. He graduated from Manistique High School in 1938. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, followed by service in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1940-1945; during which time he married the love of his life, Dorothy Aline Scogin on November 15, 1944 in Harlingen, TX. He resided in Harlingen for 72 years.
Bob was a member of the Rio Hondo Baptist Church. He was employed by Bush Supply Company and retired after 39 years of service. He followed with 17 years with MGG Sales.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert M. Hansen Jr., (Donna); daughters Ruth Marie Wrye (Chester), Laura Jean Lindsay (Jimmie) and Barbara Ann Meyers (Jay); ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Gloria Scogin of La Feria; many special nieces, nephews and dear friends; and special friend Fernando Flores.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2002, his parents, a brother and sister.
Per Bob’s request, there will be no services at this time.
