Robert Eugene Brink

RANCHO VIEJO, TX. – Robert Eugene Brink, born on Tuesday, May 19, 1925, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He was 89.

He met the love of his life, Doris, and married her on June 26, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for fifty-two years.

Robert served his country during WWII while enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Brownsville, Texas and was a member of both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.).

His loving wife, Doris Brink; daughter, Sandra Sue Brink; and his parents, Richard B. Brink and Virginia Brink, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children Jerry R. Brink of Mesa, Arizona, Nancy A. Brink of Aurora, Colorado, Tom A. Brink of Kansas City, Missouri, Steve A. Brink of Seattle, Washington, and Darryl R. Brink of Kansas City, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Brink both of Denver, Colorado.

Military honors will be conducted on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, beginning at five forty-five in the afternoon, with a memorial service following at six o’clock in the evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1400 West Highway 77 in San Benito, Texas 78586. The interment will follow at a later date in Kansas City, Missouri at Mont Olivet Cemetery.
