Rita V. Aguirre, 79, peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was born January 6, 1943 to the late Joe and Vera Gotmob Villapando in Pueblo, Colorado.
Rita was a valued employee of Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen until her retirement after 25 years of dedicated service. In her leisure time, she enjoyed dancing, listening to oldies music, and trying her luck playing her lottery scratch-offs. Rita was of the Catholic faith and a parishioner of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in San Benito.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Vera G. Villapando.
Left to cherish and lovingly remember Rita is her husband, José L. Aguirre; and her children, Dora Del Valle (José), and Ruben V. Aguirre (Noe H. Montes). She will be greatly missed, not only by her immediate family, but also by her extended family – the Paredez family, especially her “Pingito”!
A very special thanks to Rita’s caregiver, Carolina Tayofa, for her loving, compassionate care.
The Aguirre family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. (Click the link below to view a livestream of the Rosary.)
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are José Del Valle, Aurelio Moreno, Rene Paredez, Sr., Noe Montes, Rene Paredez, Jr., and Rosendo Del Valle.
