Rick Sibley was born on December 6, 1950, in San Benito, Texas, to Ray and Henrietta Sibley. He graduated from Harlingen High School in 1969. His participation in FFA and 4H led to him winning Grand Champion Steer at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show. He attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas. He met and married Linda Swope in 1974 in Harlingen. They built a beautiful home on Highway 107, that they cherished for over 40 years. Rick was a fun and generous father to his two children Jeramy and Jennifer.
After they got married he worked in the Grocery Business and Graded Peanuts. Rick worked as a Salesman for JaMar Printing for a time and cultivated many strong business relationships. He always had a love for farming which led to him start Sibley Hay Farms where in addition to hay, he farmed grain, corn and cotton. In 2001, he opened his own company, American Solutions for Business with continued success.
Rick achieved his goals in life with hard work and consistency. He had many friends and could talk to anyone, in English and Spanish. He loved horses, hunting, being outdoors, George Strait, westerns, and most of all, his family.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Ray Sibley, mother Henrietta Sibley, and wife Linda Swope Sibley. He is survived by his sister Debbie Sibley, son Jeramy (Melanie) Sibley, precious grandson Johnathan Sibley, daughter Jennifer (Zack) Massey and numerous nieces and nephews.
