Richard Eugene Smith, born February 6, 2014 in San Benito, TX passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Corpus Christi TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert H. Smith, Grace Mildred (Andrews) Smith and his sisters Lorna Smith, Deborah Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife Debra E. Smith, siblings Robert Harvey Smith Jr. (Shirley), Charles Smith (Donna), Arthur Smith (Denise). His children Shawn Paul Alvear, Brenda Perez (Silverio) and Grandson Brandon Perez. Rick helped raise his niece Jessica Fossing Stamatopoulos and nephew James Michael Dorris Jr.
He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing, gardening and spending time at the ranch. He was a consummate joke teller, avid animal lover and observed the Faith of Nazarene Church.
Rick E. Smith left high school to enlist in the military (Navy) to serve his country during The Vietnam conflict stationed upon the aircraft carrie, USS Ticonderoga.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at San Benito Funeral Home, Saturday February 8, 2014 at 3:00 P.M.
