Richard Boyd Mitchell

Richard Boyd Mitchell went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 73. Richard was born April 20, 1944 in Harlingen, Texas where he was resided until his death. He was married to the love of his life, Coleen Mangum Mitchell for 52 years. Richard spent his employment years in various occupations including ambulance driver, working in a funeral home, pipe-fitter welder, and retired as an Aloe Vera farmer. Richard was a member of First Assembly of God Church, The Elks Lodge, and a proud riding member of The Spartans Motorcycle Club. Some of his favorite things to do were cooking, gardening, fishing, hunting, driving race cars and collecting various items.

Richard is survived by his wife, Coleen Mitchell; his four children Shawn Cazares (Frank), Dorinda Pool, Bo Mitchell and Tammy Brown; his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his mother, Geraldine Colon, four sisters, Dorothy Mitchell, Judy Littlefield (Don), Frances Cooper (Blaine), Diana Cheek (Pierce); and one brother Richard Howard Mitchell Jr. (Adrian).

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard (Dick) Howard Mitchell, his grandson, Brandon Garret Pool.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home at 4:00 pm officiated by Rodney Herring. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time.
