Richard J. Hutchens

Harlingen, Texas:
Richard “Dick” Hutchens, 90, passed away on January 25, 2013 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Dick was born March 31, 1922 in Tishomingo, OK to John Reid and Wieuna Tate Hutchens. He attended Oklahoma State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree.  Dick proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during World War II in France and Germany.  He was employed as Bank President in Colombia, MO and he also held a pilots license. Dick was a member of the Lions Club and First United Methodist Church in Brownsville, Texas.   He enjoyed golf, photography, fishing and traveling.
Dick is survived by his wife, Lucille Hutchens of Harlingen; daughter, Deanne Johnson of Lawton, OK; grandchildren, Tyler Johnson and Grant Johnson both of Lawton, OK, Kristin Heidbreder and Adam Heidbreder both of  Boston, MA.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Heidbreder; brother Carroll Hutchens, and sister, Wineva Louise Hutchens.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013, 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 1225 Boca Chica Blvd Brownsville, Texas 78520 with Dr. John Fluth officiating.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito with Full Military Honors by the American Legion Post 205.
