San Benito, TX- Reynaldo Perez, 51, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus surrounded by his loved ones on April 29, 2012. He was born to Julia R. Perez and +Medardo Perez.
Rey was most recently employed by the SBCISD as a security guard where he met and made many good friends and was a retiree from the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. He was a very loyal fan of all San Benito Greyhound sports. A loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother and uncle and will forever be loved and missed by all whose heart he touched.
Left behind to cherish his wonderful memory are his loving and devoted wife of 26 years, Ophelia Perez; their 3 sons, Rey Jr. (17), Christopher (15), and Nicholas (11); his brothers, Jamie (Janie), and Ruben (Estela); his sisters, Dahlia P. (Roy) Garcia and Diana P. Evans (+Jerry); and several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles whom he adored.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Services will conclude after mass.
Pallbearers will be Sam Lopez, Israel Flores, Gabriel Vargas, Mario Rodriguez, Javier Solis, and Jose Alvarado.
Rey’s family would like to extend their utmost appreciation to Berta Cabaza Middle School Principal, Mr. Snavely and staff; Capt. S.R. Garcia and staff; and the physicians and employers of the South Heart Clinic; and to the Hospice Doctors, Dr. Castillo and Dr. Cisneros for their prayers, calls, visits and generous gifts.
