Reynaldo C. Galvan, 86, entered heaven on March 9, 2018. He was born and raised in La Feria TX and lived in Harlingen most of his life. Ray was the son of Antonio and Frances C. Galvan. After graduating from La Feria High School he served in the U.S Air Force and was a very proud veteran. Ray retired from Continental Trailways/Greyhound Buslines after 30 years, he earned many recognitions and awards; his proudest was The Million Miles Award without an accident. Ray was a caring listener to everyone and also a passionate learner. You could tell or ask him anything, he was easy to talk to even if the topic was difficult. He was a fun person to be around with; Ray could make anyone laugh with his great sense of humor.
He leaves behind his dear wife of almost 62 years, who never left his side Frances Galvan; sons, David (Betsy) Galvan, Rick Galvan, Ray Galvan Jr; daughters, Nora ( Homer) Cortez, Sylvia Galvan Jones; grandchildren, Homer Cortez Jr., Bryan (Janica) Cortez, Jonathan Jones, Stephen Cortez, Adam(Heather) Cortez, Camry Collins, Paige (Shea,) Galvan, Brittany Galvan and David Galvan Jr.; great grandchildren, Riely Delorio, Phillip Cortez, Zade Cortez, Lincoln Vance, Mia Cortez; sisters, Frances Cook, Dell Tanner.
Ray was predeceased by his brothers, Antonio and Pedro Galvan; sisters, Lupe Elizondo, Maria Smith, Ramona Bryan.
A very special Thank You to neighbor and close friend, Brenda Alvarez and family.
Gramps, you will always be in our hearts, may you rest in peace.
Visitation will be on Tuesday March 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home 710 N. Ed Carey Dr. Harlingen TX.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday March 14, at St. Anthony Church, 1102 E. Van Buren Ave. Harlingen TX. His final resting place will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park 14116 US Hwy 83 La Feria TX.
