Rebecca (Segovia) Hernandez, RN

Rebecca Segovia Hernandez, R.N., 78, peacefully passed from this life on December 6, 2020 at her home in San Benito, Texas.  She was born to Jesús Segovia and Guillermina Marroquín Segovia on April 25, 1942 in Mercedes, Texas.

Rebecca received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Pan American University.  She became a Registered Nurse in 1973.  Before her retirement, she owned and operated Elder Care Home Health and Heart of the Valley Hospice.  She was also an accomplished poet and author of Messages from Heaven.

Left to treasure Rebecca’s memory are her children, José de Jesús Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Rosalinda Hernandez, Sabrina Lara, and Mark Anthony Hernandez.  She was blessed with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Rebecca is also survived by her siblings, Jesse Segovia, Ruben Segovia, Aurora Niño, Janie Corpus, Gloria Aguilar, Mary Garcia, and Gilbert Segovia; her longtime caregiver, Laura Ledesma, and the father of her children, Jose Muñoz Hernandez.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sabrina Yvette Hernandez; her parents, Jesús and Guillermina M. Segovia; and her brothers Arnie and Rudy Segovia.

Rebecca’s family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.  She will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
