Ramon S. Acosta, 90, passed away February 8, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas.
Ramon was born February 28, 1924 in Bay City, Texas, he was one of ten children born to Antonio and Abrahana Santellan Acosta .  He graduated from Bay City High School and served his country during World War II in the Army Air Force. He went on to receive a B.B.A. from the University of Houston.  Ramon was employed with the Lambert Paint Corporation for 16 years and for the Harlingen Housing Authority, where he retired as the Executive Director.  He was a life member and the past president of the Lions Club of Harlingen, past president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Harlingen, and an Officer with LULAC.  Ramon enjoyed playing the guitar and violin, singing, bird hunting, grilling, cutting hair and traveling.  He attended First Presbyterian Church of Harlingen.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Nora K. Acosta; sister-in-law, Irene Rodriguez; children Ramon K. Acosta, Rudy K. Acosta (Julie), Lisa de la Garza (Connie), Rudy K. Acosta II (Myhanh); grandchildren Rachel Lisa Acosta, Rochelle Acosta, Robby Acosta (Clara), Lina Riechenberger (Marc), Christopher Acosta, Brian Acosta, Alex Acosta, Christy Acosta, Mia de la Garza Fields (Josh), Juan de la Garza,  Christine de la Garza, Roddy de la Garza; nine great grandchildren, Gabriella, Sophia, Nora Lisa, Blayden, Giovanna, Ella, Kailaini, Hunter and Enoch.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.  Private burial services will be held.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Acosta, Brian Acosta, Alex Acosta, Juan de la Garza, Robby Acosta and Marc Riechenberger.   Honorary pallbearers will be the Lions Club of Harlingen.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to your favorite charity.
The family wishes to thank Merida Hospice and Fernando Galvan for their care.
