Ramiro Rodriguez, 90, peacefully passed January 30, 2023 at ninety years of age. He was born to the late Abraham Rodriguez and Esperanza Gómez Rodriguez on August 15, 1932 in San Benito, Texas.
Ramiro proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Private First Class. He retired from truck driving after dedicating seventy-five years to his chosen profession.
He was a devout Catholic and an active member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and previously served as President of Resurrection Catholic Church Men’s Club in Houston. Ramiro loved serving in his church and socializing with the public.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Esperanza G. Rodriguez; his sisters, María Serna, Esperanza Rodriguez, and Ester Rodriguez; and his brother, Abraham Rodriguez, Jr.
Left to treasure Ramiro’s memory is his wife, Elvira Rodriguez; his children, Linda Hernandez, Isabel Carrizales, Lydia Gonzales, Robert Rodriguez, Ramiro Rodriguez Jr., Raymundo Rodriguez, Cynthia Ruiz, Teresa Garcia, Abraham Rodriguez, and Jacobo Rodriguez. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ignacio Rodriguez, Estella Rodriguez, and Gracie Bonnette.
The family wishes to thank Concord Hospice Care and Brave Heart Home Care for their compassionate care of their loved one.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Wednesday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Mr. Rodriguez will be laid to rest with full military honors at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
