Ramiro H. Aguilar

Ramiro H. Aguilar, 70, passed from this life on Thursday, May 21, 2020.  He was born on September 30, 1949 to Ausencio Aguilar and Tomasa Hernandez Aguilar in Ejido San Luisito de Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico.

Ramiro was retired from the Cameron County Irrigation District #2 where he was employed for 35 years.  After his retirement, his favorite pastime was trying his luck on stacks of scratch-off tickets.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ausencio and Tomasa Aguilar; brothers, Guadalupe Aguilar and Abel Aguilar; sisters, Rosa Perez and Guadalupe Vasquez.

Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Irma Aguilar Mancha; children, Beto (Brenda) Aguilar, Ramiro (Clarissa) Aguilar, Jr., Claudia (Luis A.) Santamaría; grandchildren, Andrew I. Aguilar, Lauren E. Aguilar, Amri Santamaría, Arissa A. Aguilar, Cameron J. Aguilar, Zaira Santamaría, and Luis A. Santamaría, Jr.; siblings and their spouses, Arturo Aguilar, Juan Manuel Aguilar, Maria E. Gonzalez, Blanca Rodriguez, and Gerardo Aguilar; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The Aguilar family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  A time of remembering and celebrating Ramiro’s life will begin at 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening.  A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:00 AM at San Benito Memorial Park (City Cemetery).

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Beto Aguilar, Ramiro Aguilar, Jr., Luis A. Santamaria, Andrew Aguilar, Guadalupe (Wally) Longoria, and Gaspar Davila. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Aguilar and Luis A. Santamaria, Jr.
