Rafael G. Loera
October 24, 1932 — January 17, 2018
Rafael G. Loera went home on January 17, 2018, to Heaven, to the land of Love, Light, and Gladness. He was 85 years old and was a lifelong resident of Los Fresnos, Texas.
Rafael is survived by his daughters, Dora Lee Lozano (Carlos Cruz) and Irma Arismendi (Javier Martinez); three grandchildren, Vicente (Veronica) Arismendi III, Catherine Arenas, Krystle Rose Lozano. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Catherine Elise Fernandez, Bryan Matthew Arismendi, Kobe Arismendi, Rebakah Jordan Arismendi, Paydreaux Arismendi; siblings, Genoveva Cisneros, Felipa Loera, Guadalupe Jaramillo, Consuelo Torrez, Adela Garza.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria De Jesus Loera; brothers, Raul, Reymundo, Graciano, Lucio, and Pedro Loera; parents, Octaviano Loera and Manuela Garza Loera.
Visitation will be take place on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos, Texas. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 S. Inspiration Rd., Mission, Texas.
