Philip Foglesong Jr., 73, formerly of Joy, IL passed away April 9, 2015 in Corpus Christi, TX.
Philip was born September 25, 1941 in Galesburg, IL to Philip Foglesong, Sr. and LuLu Olsen Foglesong. He served his country with the United State Army as SSG. Philip married Karen Sue Holmes and they were married until her passing on January 24, 2015. He was employed with Westmer School District and Mercer County School District for 37 years and was past mayor of Joy, IL.
Philip is survived by his sons, Philip Carl Foglesong of Goose Creek, SC, William Foglesong of Jacksonville, FL, Scott Fitzsimmons of Davis Junction, IL, Steve Fitzsimmons of Rock Island, IL, Don Fitzsimmons of Aledo, IL, Darrell Fitzsimmons of Vicksburg, MI, Tony McIntre of Roscoe, Il and Andrew Foglesong of Colorado Springs, CO; 25 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Foglesong and daughter, Laurie Tonioni.
A memorial service will be held May 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Joy, IL. Burial will be held at Leech Cemetery.
