May 27, 1924 — January 18, 2016

Pete Phillip Kroll
Harlingen–
Pete Phillip Kroll passed away January 18, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born in Richards, Texas to John and Stella Kroll.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret, a son, Mark (Nghi) of Rancho Viejo and a daughter, Judy of Harlingen. Pete is also survived by sisters Loukattie Burzynski (Eugene) of Richards and Bettie Wrobleski of Anderson, and brother-in-law Dale Carnagey of Bren-ham.
Pete saw active duty in the Philippine Campaign of World War Two. He received his Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University.  He later became an agriculture teacher and an administrator with Harlingen schools, Superintendent of Schools in Rio Hondo, and investment broker in McAllen. In later years he enjoyed worshipping at St. Anthony’s Church, extensive travelling, playing bridge, and being an enthusiastic member of his Whataburger coffee group.
Pete had an abiding faith in God and a tremendous interest in the plants and animals in His world.
There will be no local service as it was his wish for his life to be celebrated with a Mass in his boyhood church, St. Stanislas, in Anderson. His interment will be in the St. Stanislas Cemetery.
The last two years of Pete’s life were years of comfort and peace as provided by Mike and Jo McCulley and their excellent caregivers at Sonshine Terrace in Harlingen. For this Pete’s family is extremely grateful.
Anyone wishing to do so may make a donation in Pete’s name to the building fund of St. Anthony’s Church.
