Paulino Huerta, III

Paulino Huerta III, 56, passed away on August 24, 2020.  He was born to Paulino Huerta, Jr. and Carmen Cortez Huerta. on August 1, 1964 in San Benito, Texas.

He was a caring son, loving husband, father and grandfather.  He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandson play baseball.  He was a great friend and colleague, was selfless, and had a heart of gold.

Paulino was a sports enthusiast. He enjoyed baseball, softball, and football and especially enjoyed coaching both of his children, and various other young athletes. He was also a big Mighty Greyhound fanatic. Fishing was another one of his favorite hobbies.

He was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for 20 years. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito.

Paulino is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tiana M. Huerta; father-in-law, Jose I. Vega; paternal grandparents, Paulino and Guadalupe Huerta Sr.; maternal grandparents, Epifanio and Refugia Cortez.

Left to treasure Paulino’s memory are his wife, Maria De Jesus Huerta whom he was married to for 34 wonderful years; his children, Paulino (Tracy) Huerta IV and Clarissa (Joe) Valdez; his grandchildren, Paulino Huerta V and Taelyn Faith Huerta; mother and father Paulino and Carmen Cortez Huerta Jr.; brothers and sisters, Jaime (Sandra) Huerta, Sulema (Esteban) Huerta, Nelda (Noe) Garza, and Manuel Huerta; mother-in-law; Maria R. Vega; brother-in-law, Pablo Vega and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Huerta family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Friday evening at 7 o’clock. (Click on the link below to view the service via live-stream.)

Rite of Committal service and interment will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Paulino Huerta IV, Joe Valdez, Manuel Huerta, Noe Garza, Pablo Vega, and Mario Martinez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Paulino Huerta V, Jaime Huerta and Paulino Huerta Jr.
