Patricia Searl Chapman, 84, formerly of Orange, VA passed away January 7, 2014 in Harlingen, TX.
Pat was born June 16, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI to Judge Fred N. Searl and Margaret Cady Searl. She graduated from East Grand Rapids High School and attended Stephens College. Pat loved family, friends, her second life in Virginia, great conversations, England and sitting on the beach at Lake Michigan. Dogs and horses were not her whole life but they made her life whole.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Abbott (Jack) of Harlingen; son, John Gordon Jensen (Carol Franklin) of Mancelona, MI; son, Craig T. Jensen of Gordonsville, VA; granddaughter, Heather Adair (William); grandson, Timothy Abbott; granddaughter, Amy Jensen; great grandchildren, Robert and Megan Adair and Reyann Jensen Thomas; and step-children: Dolly Chapman (Shannon) and Scotty Chapman (Carolyn).
Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, John Gordon Jensen of Ada, MI; her second husband, W.W. Scott Chapman of Gordonsville, VA and her beloved sister-in-law, DenDen Chapman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests, memorials to be made to the Harlingen Humane Society, 1106 Markowsky Street, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Angelcare Haven for their gentle and loving care.
Death may have stolen her from this world but it cannot claim her because she lives on in our hearts and memories.
