Patricia L. Alvarez
January 24, 1947 — April 4, 2014
San Benito, TX- On April 4th 2014, Patricia Robertson Alvarez (67) was called home after a short battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Deanna Marie Alvarez and son Joseph Alexander Alvarez.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Jose A. Alvarez and daughters Lisa Gayle Tellez, Marianne Kathleen La Bell (Candelario), De Anna Marie La Bell- Jackson (Bo), and son Jack Edward La Bell (Veronica), along with 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Copeland, Anne Janelle Schonefeld (Lloyd) and sister in law Molly Garza, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She retired from San Benito CISD with 20 years of service. “Mom” as she was affectionately known by those close to her always had an “open door” at her home creating a loving environment for all. She touched the lives of many people with her kindness and services to this fine community of San Benito. Although she no longer walks among us her spirit will forever reside in the hearts and lives of those she touched. It is with this image that we will remember her and we will always see the image of our loving God in her smile and hospitality. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7pm Monday April 7, 2014 at San Benito Funeral Home. Church service will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11am at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church with Father Isaac presiding. As per her wishes cremation will follow
God saw her getting tired, a cure was not to be.
He wrapped her in his loving arms and whispered, “come with me”.
She suffered much in silence, her spirit did not bend.
She faced pain with courage, until the very end. She tried so hard to stay with us but her fight was not in vain,
God took her to his loving home and freed her from pain.
