Pablo Hilario "Paulie" Sanchez, Jr.

Pablo Hilario “Paulie” Sanchez, Jr., 43, passed away December 22, 2020 in Muskogee, Oklahoma after a brief illness.  He was born to Pablo Hilario Sanchez, Sr. and Margarita Lopez Sanchez on September 17, 1977 in San Benito.

Pablo was a proud graduate of San Benito High School and a U.S. Army veteran.  His military occupational specialty (MOS) was Combat Engineer, 1st Engineer Battalion, HHC FC.  Pablo was awarded the Driver Badge, Army Lapel Button, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.

At the time of his death, Pablo was employed as a pipeline teamster.

Left to treasure Pablo’s memory are his sons, Pablo Angel Hilario Sanchez, III and Brenan Noah Sanchez; his mother, Margarita L. Sanchez; and sister, Valerie Sanchez.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Athena Marie Sanchez; father, Pablo H. Sanchez, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Antonio Lopez, Sr. and Guadalupe Machuca Lopez; uncle, Francisco and aunt, Linda Lopez; and uncles, Reynaldo Lopez and Robert Lopez.

Pablo was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito.

Visitation will take place on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Monday evening. A graveside service and interment with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at San Benito Memorial Park (City Cemetery).

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Pablo Angel Hilario Sanchez, III, Brennan Noah Sanchez, Isaac Borjas, JJ Lopez, Francisco Lopez, Jr., and Antonio Lopez, III. Nathaniel Ortiz will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
