Harlingen:
O.T. Burns, 96, joined his wife, Audrey in eternal life on Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Harlingen.
O.T. was born to Oyer and Nora Burns on October 14, 1912 in Tyler, Texas. He and his family moved to the Harlingen area in 1920.
O.T. married Audrey Rebman on May 10, 1935, and they resided in Harlingen, where he was employed by the Hygeia Dairy Company for many years.
O.T. and Audrey were faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Harlingen and the Harlingen Elks Lodge #1889. He loved fishing, gardening and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Baczewski of Harlingen; grandsons, Randy Baczewski and wife, Ginger of San Antonio, Texas, Gary Baczewski and wife, Celie of San Antonio, Texas, Anthony Ray Baczewski of Harlingen; great-grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Baczewski; sisters, Ethelen Howe of Tyler, Texas, Thelma Jean Geese of Galveston, Texas; brothers, Ray Burns (Wynell) of Houston, Texas, George Burns (Norma) of La Feria, Frank Burns (Wilma) of Harlingen and numerous nieces and nephews.
O.T. will be most remembered as a loving and kind father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, February 27, 2009 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 28, 2009 with the Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be family members, Keith Burns, Ricky Burns, Levi Burns, Randy Baczewski, Gary Baczweski and Tony Ray Baczewski.
The family request that those desiring to do so may make memorial donations to the Harlingen Elks, Lodge #1889 or to the First Baptist Church in Harlingen.
