Ollie Goodloe “O.G.” Martin, Jr., passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Retama Manor Nursing Home in Harlingen.
O.G. was born May 9, 1928 in Fayetteville, TN to Ollie G. and Annie Martin. He was raised and attended schools in Harlingen. He was married and was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Harlingen and was someone who loved the outdoors.
O.G. is survived by his wife, Leila Darlene Martin of Harlingen; daughter, Kathleen Ann Collins and her husband, Dennis Bryan Collins of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Dennis Michael Collins also of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, George Martin of Houston, TX; sisters, Loretta Horkman of Harlingen and Emma Jean Phillips of Arlington, TX; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Opal Hance, Edith Martin, Juanita Chappel and Barbara Pockrus.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 1, 2013 with the Rev. Mark Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park with a reception to follow at the First Assembly of God Church.
