Olga Castro Salazar

Olga C. Salazar, 72, peacefully passed from this life on October 3, 2022 in Madelia, Minnesota. She was born to the late Rafael Castro and Eugenia Pedraza Castro on October 5, 1949 in San Benito, Texas.

Olga was a home health provider before her retirement. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching HGTV and Spanish-language novelas, and going to casinos. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Eugenia P. Castro; her brothers, Rafael Castro Jr. and Reynaldo Castro; and her sisters, Ernestina Alvarez and Celia Perez.

Left to treasure Olga’s memory is her husband Dionicio Salazar Jr.; her children, Dionicio Salazar III (Marisa), Javier Salazar (Maribel), Noe Salazar (Glenda), Olga Salazar Rodriguez (Pedro), and Samuel Salazar; her grandchildren, Kristal Marie Salazar, Lorenzo Joaquin Salazar, Adrian Noe Salazar, Leonel Javier Salazar, Sophia Celeste Salazar, Samantha Rae Rodriguez, Lesley Nicole Salazar, and Sadie Ree Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Salazar family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 7 o’clock that evening. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Iglesia La Hermosa, 483 W. Stenger Street, in San Benito. Following the service, Olga will be laid to rest at San Benito Memorial Park (City Cemetery).

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dionicio Salazar III, Javier Salazar, Noe Salazar, Samuel Salazar, Lorenzo Salazar, Adrian Salazar, and Leonel Salazar. Olga Salazar Rodriguez will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
