Harlingen, TX - Ofelia C. Pena, 64, of Harlingen, TX passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 in San Benito, TX. Ofelia was born in Ebano, S.L.P., Mexico on August 23, 1947.
She enjoyed sewing, shopping, eating out, gardening and the outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Julia Cruz Carrillo; and granddaughter, Savannah K. Cavazos.
Ofelia is survived by her children, Sylvia (Luis Miguel) Cabanas, Juan (Nancy) Teran, Leonides "Nena" Teran, Julia (David) Figueroa, and Zully (Hector) Castillo; her father, Daniel Contreras16 grandchildren; 8 brothers and sisters; and close friend, Jose A. Benavides.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. for a 2:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Msg. Pedro Briseno as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
