Noe Cavazos

December 12, 1949 — July 17, 2020

Noe Cavazos passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020, at his home, in San Benito, Texas at the age of 70. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 50 years.

Noe was born on December 12, 1949 in Rio Hondo, the first of seven siblings. He graduated from Rio Hondo High in 1969 and met the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Ana, in December of 1972. They married on April 21, 1973 and raised three daughters who were left with wonderful childhood memories of family traditions like Saturday barbecues, annual trips for Witnesses conventions, and road trips through Mexico and to Disneyworld. He spent his entire life supporting their dreams and making sure they had everything they needed. He also raised a granddaughter who he gave the world to.

Noe was known for cracking jokes, and for his love of coffee, the Beatles, Westerns, cutting the grass, gardening, and all things John Deere. He owned The Green Car Wash in the late-70s and 80s, worked at the Social Security Administration for 22 years, and after retirement continued to work as the owner of Disability Appeal Services and as a court interpreter. Noe was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend and will be deeply missed. Along with the the memories of his love, strength and life well-lived, his family is bolstered by the hope of seeing him again in the not too distant future (Acts 24:15).

He is survived by his wife, Ana M. Cavazos; his children, Miriam Cavazos, Monica Mendez, and Kelly Cavazos; his siblings, Noemi (Paul) Pomeroy, Juan (Irian) Cavazos, Eunice (Donnie) Buell, Ruth (Ronald) Murtha, Martha Jenkins, and Ann (Dave) Favila; two grandchildren, Ireland (Jacob R.) Gonzalez and Lorelai Mendez; his favorite great grandchild, Ryan Gonzalez; and his cat, Oliver C. Garden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Angela Cavazos, and his nephew Scott Dillon Murtha.
