SAN BENITO, TX. – Ninfa De Los Santos Rodriguez, born on June 22, 1930 in San Benito, Texas, died on Monday, August 10, 2015 at residence. She was 85 years old.

Ninfa was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, as well as a devoted member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, and gardening.

Her parents, Guadalupe De Los Santos and Felicitas Garcia; loving husband, Jesus Rodriguez; daughter, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez; three sons, Martin Rene and twins; grandson, Cesario Velasquez, Jr.; sister, Noemi Martinez Rodriguez; and brother, Gregorio “Baldo” Martinez, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children Jesus Rodriguez, Jr. (Irma) of San Benito, Lydia Rodriguez (Pedro) of Round Lake Beach, Illinois, Lucinda Rodriguez of San Benito, Ninfa Martinez of San Benito, Diana Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois, Jose Luis Rodriguez (Jill) of Round Lake Park, Illinois, Juan Manuel Rodriguez (Guyliene) of Arkansas; Nelda Duer (Mike) of Ohio, Felicitas Rodriguez of Harlingen, Sylvia Rodriguez of San Benito, Edna Solano (Jesse) of Harlingen, Martin Rene Rodriguez of Arlington, Texas, and Maria Victoria Cardona (Rafael) of Austin, Texas; Francisco Cumpain, whom she raised; fifty-four grandchildren; ninety-four great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are on Thursday, August 13, 2015, beginning at nine o’clock in the morning and concluding at nine o’clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o’clock Thursday evening within the San Benito Funeral Home Chapel, 1400 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2015 at ten o’clock in the morning, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1001 West Highway 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
Committal services will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Homer Rodriguez, Alfredo “Freddy” Escobedo, Jr., Moses Ramiro Martinez, Chencho Rodriguez, Alex Solano, and Christopher Rodriguez. Marco Cardona, Brandon Lee Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Billy Rodriguez, and Noah Corona, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
