Ninfa Rodriguez Cardenas, age 90, of Los Fresnos, Texas, entered peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

Ninfa was born on July 22, 1934, in Olmito, Texas, to Alfonso and Estela Rodriguez. She grew up in Los Fresnos, later moved to Baytown, Texas, and eventually returned to Los Fresnos, where she spent her later years.

A proud alumna of Los Fresnos schools, Ninfa was employed in the Maintenance Department at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas. Her unwavering work ethic and dedication made her an invaluable part of the team.

Ninfa was deeply cherished by her family and friends. She found immense joy in crocheting, cooking, and spending time outdoors. A pillar of strength and support, Ninfa consistently put the needs of others before her own. She was especially devoted to caring for her mother, providing exceptional love and attention throughout her mother’s later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Estela Rodriguez; her daughter, Lupita Arredondo; her infant son, Luis Rodriguez; and her grandchildren, Misti Morris, Hector Arredondo Jr., and Eva Guadalupe Rodriguez.

Ninfa is also predeceased by her siblings: Manuel Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez (Baytown, TX), and Adan Rodriguez (Brownsville, TX), Lydia Arevalo (Carrollton, TX), Eva R. Cantu (Adrian, MI).

Ninfa leaves behind a loving family to honor her memory. She is survived by her children: Maria Elvia (Glen) Morris of Hempstead, TX, Roberto (Dianisia) Rodriguez of Baytown, TX, Jose Luis (Mary) Rodriguez of Los Fresnos, TX, Edwardo (Marina) Cardenas of Los Fresnos, TX

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her legacy forward.

Ninfa’s surviving siblings include Maria R. Segura and Elena Gonzales of Los Fresnos, TX, as well as her sisters-in-law, Jesusa and Herlinda Rodriguez of Baytown, TX.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos, Texas. Ninfa will be laid to rest at Los Cuates Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Veranda Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Genitive Hospice services for their compassionate care and support during Ninfa’s time with them.

Pallbearers will include Joe Angel Bernal Jr. Gabriel Bernal, Denilson Antonio Cardenas, Robert Rodriguez, Eduardo Cardenas, Joel Segura. Honorary Pallbearers: Alejandro Bernal, Jose Luis Rodriguez and Uvaldo Garcia, honoring Ninfa with their service.

Ninfa Rodriguez Cardenas will be remembered for her selflessness, strength, and the love she gave unconditionally. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
