Nina Ward Folliott, 75, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at her residence.
Nina was born December 15, 1933 in Long Beach, CA to Joe Ward and Lorraine Portis Ward. In her younger years Nina modeled for stores in Connecticut and Washington. During her freshman year in 1952 she attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and graduated from Stephens College for Women in Missouri. She was member of ASID.
Nina was employed as an Interior Designer Furniture Store Manager for Strouds Furniture for several years. After Strouds sold she went to work for Edelsteins family chain of furniture stores. During the last few years, she was active in sales with Designers Showroom of Brownsville.
Nina enjoyed bird watching, cooking, pleasing others, and making her husband happy for 56 years and one month.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Alfred Folliott; her son Lance Durand Folliott; and several cousins and one aunt.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jack A. Folliot, Jr., in 2002.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church 400 N. Sam Houston in San Benito on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. For those desiring to do so, memorial donation may be made to a charity of choice.
