Nettie Doris Hansen

Our loss is heaven’s gain! As Nettie Doris Hansen passed away on October 1, 2015. Doris was born on November 5, 1919 and was married to C.W. “Pat” Hansen for forty-seven years and raised six children in the San Benito/ Rangerville area. Together they were active members of Calvary Baptist Church in Harlingen, Texas for forty-five years. After C.W. (Pat’s) death in 1989, Doris continued in her faith for over sixty years.
Doris and Pat were active in the lower valley farming community starting in 1940. Doris was “Meme” to her seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. They will remember her as a kind, forgiving and a loving servant of the Lord who devoted her life to her family and friends.
She is survived by: Doug & Sharon Hansen of Harlingen, Nita & Scott Brumbaugh of Ohio, Paul & Laura Hansen of Washington, Mark & Patty Hansen of Athens, one sister, Mary Anderson of Harlingen and many nieces, nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Wayne Hansen, Sr., and John Phillip Hansen, one granddaughter, Wendy Beal and seven siblings.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 with family receiving guests from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
A celebration of Doris’s life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1:30 PM in Harlingen, Texas with the Rev. Brandon Helm officiating.
A private family graveside will be held earlier that day.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Calvary Christian School, 1815 North 7th Street, Harlingen, Texas 78550
