Nelda Marlene Williams, 76, passed away April 24, 2015 at Retama Manor in Harlingen, TX.
Marlene was born May 4, 1939 in Schram City, Illinois to Claude Roe and Ida Almeda Murphy Roe. She attended and graduated high school in Vandalia, Illinois and married Lorrie G. Williams on June 23, 1957. Marlene was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Illinois, Ennon Baptist Church in Illinois, Grace Baptist Church in Frankfort, Indiana and the First Baptist Church of Harlingen, Texas. She served as church secretary at Grace Baptist Church in Frankfort, IN for 17 years. Marlene enjoyed traveling, camping, dominos and church activities.
She is survived by husband Lorrie G. Williams of Harlingen, Texas; sons Michael L. Williams of Frankfort, IN and Jaime L. Williams of Ft. Worth, Texas; granddaughter Ashley N. Bronander of Ft. Worth, Texas; and grandsons Caleb J. Williams of Ft. Worth, Texas and Daniel H. Williams of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Meda Roe; father and mother-in-law Lawrence and Hazel Williams; sister Lovetta Scales; brother-in-law Lannie Williams; and aunt, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hall officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
