Neil S. Madeley

February 6, 1924 — July 18, 2018

Neil Shaw Madeley Jr., 94, passed away on July 18, 2018.  He was born and raised in Harlingen and is a graduate of Harlingen High School and Texas A&M University.  He served as a B-17 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.  After the war, Neil worked as a professional engineer in the Valley and later in Houston.

Neil was preceded in death by his wife Mary Minta Polley Madeley, and his sister Dorothy Madeley Taylor.

Neil is survived by his partner Shirley Brix of Georgetown, his two sons, Mark Madeley and wife Carol of Brenham, and Bart Madeley and wife Sara of Georgetown, and five grandchildren, Minta, Michelle, Bonnie, Bart Jr. and Sam, and Shirley’s family the Brix’s and Franklands.

Visitation hours will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be officiated Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
