Nancy Alice Beck

Nancy was born in Weslaco, TX to Robert and Velma Dicus on July 9, 1935. She had two older sisters and after birth she was joined by four sisters and four brothers.  Nancy graduated from La Feria High School Class of 1953. Nancy graduated Harlingen Beauty College and became an accomplished hair stylish in Austin, TX. Nancy could teach herself most anything she set her desires to learn, including; piano, oil and watercolors, and loved painting flowers and beach scenes and was also an accomplished genealogist.

Nancy spent her life growing up in La Feria. She played girls baseball, was in pep squad and loved to sing. Nancy was a member of La Feria First Baptist Church in her youth and early adulthood.

Nancy is survived by her husband Donald P Beck, a stepdaughter Debi and two grandsons, and a stepdaughter and son from a previous marriage, Robin and Eddie. Other survivors are her sisters and brothers; Frances, Velma Sue, Vera Ruth, Herman Lee, James and Robert Clifton Dicus. She was preceded in death by her sisters Mildred Walker and Linda Brookman, and her favorite pet Rush Puppy whom we all loved and adored. Rush Puppy was a blessing to her and all of us.

Visitation will be at 1:00 PM with services following at 2:00 PM this Monday, January 8, 2018 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen.  Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
