Moises Ramirez

San Benito, TX - Moises Ramirez, passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center on July 13, 2011 at the age of 80. He was born in Brownsville, TX to Timoteo and Julia Ramirez on September 4, 1930.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Timoteo and Julia Ramirez; brothers, Jesus, Silverio, and Pedro; sisters, Teresa Beal, Aurora Ramirez, Hipolia-Julia Alvarez, Manuela Narvaez, and Christina Ramirez; and a great granddaughter, Isabel Mya Ramirez.

Moises is survived by his devoted wife, Lily Ramirez; his sons, Michael Rene (Maggie) of Harlingen, TX; and Moises Roel (Stacy) of Madison, AL; his daughters, Angela Bulmer of Kentucky; Monique (Robert) Silva of Houston, TX; and Danella (Randy) Hernandez of Edna, TX; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Angelita Ramirez of Brownsville, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Moises was a veteran of the Korean War; he served proudly with the US Army 1st Calvary from 1948 to 1950; he extended his service to the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955; he was a decorated service man and an honored soldier.
Moises worked many years at Valley Regional and Brownsville Medical Center in Brownsville.  He served his community as a Realtor and as an Appraiser for the Cameron County Appraisal District.  His support extended through the educational, athletic and civil activities throughout the surrounding community.

Moises will be greatly missed by his spiritual community at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church of San Benito where he served religiously for many years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.

Pallbearers will be Michael Rene Ramirez, Moises Roel Ramirez, Xavier Lopez, Frank DeLeon, Jr., Placido Cortez, Jr., and Rudy Maldonado; honorary pallbearers will be Roberto Silva, Francisco DeLeon, Sr., Juan Manuel Garcia, Randy Hernandez and Gilbert Galvan.
