Modesto G. Gonzalez

Modesto G. Gonzalez passed away on February 5, 2020, at the age of 83.  He was born in Mexico on July 18, 1936, to Mateo and Petra Gomez Gonzalez.

His sister Guadalupe (Alejandro) Cavazos precedes him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Rosita Gonzalez. He is also survived by his children, Eloy Gonzalez, Gerardo Gonzalez, Kristina Garcia, grandchildren, AJ Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, and Abraham Garcia, brothers, Eusebio (Josephina) Gonzalez, Adan (Alicia) Gonzalez, and sister, Eva (Antonio) Cavazos.

He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed fishing, golf, and baseball. Modesto provided his services as an employee of the Harlingen Country Club for over 35 years.  He was befriended and beloved by many throughout the valley.

Visitation will be at San Benito Funeral Home on Monday, February 10, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church.  Interment will then follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.

Pallbearers will be Eloy Gonzalez, AJ Garcia, Abraham Garcia, Gary Gonzalez, Alejandro Garcia and David Munoz.
