Misael "Smiley" Garcia

Misael “Smiley” Garcia went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the age of 55.  He was born to Santos Garcia, Sr. and Maria Longoria Garcia on October 25, 1962 in San Benito, Texas.

A proud member of the San Benito High School Class of 1981, Smiley was well known in the community as Store Manager of Autozone.  In addition to his studies in Computer Science, Smiley loved crafting, shopping, looking for bargains, karaoke, dancing, getting together with friends, and living life to the fullest.  He was a Christian brother and was active in his faith.

Left to cherish Smiley’s memory is his wife, Velma Garcia; his sons, Misael “Smiley” Garcia, Jr., Kevin Anthony Garcia, and Matthew Eric Garcia; siblings, Senovio “Sam” (Nancy) Garcia, Hilda (Art) Rendon, Osvaldo Garcia, Adriel (Mary) Garcia, Santos Garcia, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Melva Rodriguez, Angelica (Manuel) Sanchez; brothers-in-law, Jaime Rodriguez, Frank (Laura) Rodriguez; and, numerous nieces and nephews.

The Garcia family will be receiving friends and relatives on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  A prayer service will take place at 7 o’clock on Thursday evening.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Benedict Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
